HODGY BEATS, UNTITLED EPOdd Future’s Hodgy Beats released a free nine track “Untitled” EP over thew weekend. What caught my eyes was the producers who made the tracks. Flying Lotus, Juicy J, The Alchemist, and Thelonious Martin are a couple names you may recognize. Overall, it’s a pretty damn good EP. Didn’t hear much from Hodgy before this, now I’m hooked. BONOBO, BLACK SANDS REMIXEDBonobo’s 2010 epic full length, Black Sands is one of the most listened to albums on my iTunes. I absolutely love it from start to finish. Earlier this month, Black Sands was rereleased as a 15 track remix album via Ninja Tune Records. Floating Points, Falty DL, Mike Slott, Machinedrum, and Lapalux are just a few of the remixers. What a line-up. Black Sands Remixed also comes with two new tracks from Bonobo, “Ghost Ship” and “Brace Brace”. Both are great in their own way. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I’ve been addicted to Nicolas Jaar lately. Especially attracted to his three track EP, Nico’s Bluewave Edits, released on Wolf + Lamb Records. Each song is an amazing remix, “Work It” is Missy Elliot, “Hey Boy” is by The Blow, and the smooth sampling of “What My Last Girl Put Me Through” is originally by Mike and the Sensations. Jaar is on tour right now, unfortunately his show at the Independent in San Francisco next month is already sold out. Maybe you can catch him in a city near you.

♫ Major Lazer - Original Don (FLOSSTRADAMUS Remix)

MAJOR LAZER, FLOSSTRADAMUS REMIX

FLOSSTRADAMUS released his edit of Major Lazer’s latest track, “Original Don” and it’s easily one of the heaviest tracks I’ve heard in a while. With more breakdowns than you can count and a heavier bassline, it tops the original. I’m loving the hip-hop influence. FLOSSTRADAMUS, you’ve done it again. 

♫ Bullion - Say Arr Ee

BULLION, SAY ARR EE SINGLE

Bullion made his way in with the R&S crew and debuted his single, “Say Arr Ee” this past week. Both tracks, “Say Arr Ee” and “What Does She Know” (the b-side) have a nostalgic feel of the 1980’s. Psychedelic synths, smooth percussions, and echoing vocals (as we all know) make for a perfect spring/summer soundtrack. Both tracks are worth your precious time.

♫ Robot Koch - Follow Birds

FINEST EGO GERMAN | AUSTRIAN | SWISS COMPILATIONReally feeling this album lately. Finest Ego Records and [a personal favorite] Project: Mooncircle Records collaborated on a hefty 33 track compilation, making this the fifth release in this series. To be honest, there’s more artist I don’t recognize on the compilation but it doesn’t matter considering how consistant the song quality is. Tons of diversity and easily some of the best beats to date. Pick this up.
